Terms and Conditions

The rules for using UserCompass and how we provide the service.

1. Who we are

UserCompass (the "Service") helps teams collect, organize, and act on user feedback with public and private boards, Kanban workflows, and roadmap sharing.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.
  • If you sign up on behalf of a company, you represent you have authority to bind that company.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law, infringe IP, or violate privacy rights.
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to probe, scan, or test the Service.
  • Misuse integrations (including firstusers.tech) or interfere with other users.
  • Use the Service to send spam, harassment, or illegal content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellations

  • Free includes 1 project, 1 admin role, and core features.
  • Pro is billed monthly at the posted rate unless otherwise stated.
  • Charges are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • Downgrades may limit access (e.g., project or feature limits).

5. Firstusers.tech integration

If you connect firstusers.tech, we create or link projects and accept feedback from testers who opt in. You are responsible for the content submitted to your project.

6. Your content

  • You retain ownership of content you submit.
  • You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit your content as needed to operate the Service.
  • You confirm you have rights to submit the content and that it does not violate laws or rights of others.

7. Data security and privacy

We apply industry-standard security controls and follow our Privacy Policy for personal data. Report issues to security@usercompass.tech.

8. Uptime and support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We provide reasonable support for paying customers and will communicate material incidents.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, branding, and underlying technology are owned by UserCompass. You receive a limited right to use the Service; no other rights are granted.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UserCompass is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. Our total liability is limited to fees you paid to us in the 3 months before the claim (or $100 if none).

12. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to the Service or terms

We may update the Service and these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of your local jurisdiction unless prohibited; otherwise, they are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
